Bio

Scott Kneller from Jindabyne New South Wales is just twenty years old, yet has already completed his first season on the challenging World Cup Circuit of Ski Cross. Although, one of the youngest athletes on tour, he has achieved outstanding results which have qualified him as a Shadow Team member for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
At the tender age of just three years old, Scott put on skis for the first time and never looked back. Living in Jindabyne provided almost daily access to the snowfields during the winter months and so began his passion for skiing. He participated in various ski programs and found his niche in the race program and the annual Interschools Competitions – he was U14 National Alpine Champion in both slalom and giant slalom for two consecutive years, representing Australia at Topolino Italy for the World Childrens Championships. Training with the Thredbo Ski Race Club provided invaluable support to his progress on the FIS alpine circuit here in Australia, and he later qualified for Junior World Championships.
Scott pursued his Alpine career for nine years and upon his move to race Skier Cross he was the National Junior Alpine Champion in both Slalom and Giant Slalom. The transition to another discipline was relatively smooth, with encouragement from family and coaches alike to try this new and exciting, if somewhat dangerous, sport. In 2008 Scott began his career in Skier Cross and in 2009 he made his debut on the World Cup Circuit. Scott exploded onto the scene with a 15th on the Olympic track in Cypress Mountain Canada.
Scott’s dream of competing at the Winter Olympics is soon to be become a reality – his selection to the Shadow Team is tribute to his talent and dedication to represent his country.
