The Opening Ceremony was the most amazing experience of my life. It’s impossible to describe the pride and excitement I felt walking into that stadium. 60 000 people filled the stadium and an estimated 3 billion viewers world wide cheered for the Australian team.

The Ceremony itself was incredible. It was the first Winter Olympic Opening Ceremony held inside and an absolute cracker of a show. Breathtaking lighting and standout performances by Nelly Furtado and Bryan Adams and K.D. Lang stole the show. I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face, it’s an experience I will never forget

Arrived in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island on the 13th to a downpour of rain. Driving up to the Mt Washington I had my doubts but sure enough it eventually turned to snow and we arrived in a blizzard and almost half a metre of snow on the ground.

Awoke the next day to blue bird conditions and deep snow, a stark contrast to the conditions at Cypress Mountain at the moment. Mt Washington have built an amazing start here for us with two huge wu-tangs to mimic the Olympic start. We are here with the Swedish and Finnish teams, both have amazing athletes and will be great to train with over the next couple of days

Just watching the ice skating, I could swear I’m watching blades of glory, both competitors in full tight one piece blue shiny metallic suits, classic.
